This homespun yarn is from 100% Alpaca fibre.  The fibre is from a local Alberta ranch.  The color is a naturally occurring light fawn.  It has not been dyed, it's the color of the animal. 

The yarn is two-ply.  It is finer than a worsted, more like a sport weight yarn.  If you look at the detailed photo, I've placed a penny on the yarn to show scale. 

This lovely alpaca yarn would be great for knitting or for weaving.
