Ashford Wool Card, made of wood with metal teeth to card wool or other fibre. Used to straighten and fluff the fibre in preparation for hand-spinning. Cards also help to remove vegetable matter from the fleece.

The Ashford cards have a curved back which makes for easier carding.  There are seventy-two wires per square inch.  225 x 125mm. which is approximately 9 by 5 inches. These are the standard cards used for wool.
