Ball-handled rug hook.  This hook is the large size at 4 mm.  I've put a penny in the photo to show scale.  Have a look at a crochet hook to see the size.  Smooth, wooden handle.  This hook is for the wider strips-- #7 - 10.  The length of the hook without the handle is 1.25 inches.  Can't beat the price.
