Banana Top

Fibre is taken from the stem or shoots of the banana tree.  It is processed and refined to produce a lightweight, highly absorbent and ecologically friendly fibre that is comfortable to wear.  Banana has been used in Japan for kimonos since the 13th century as it has good luster and drape.

"Top" means that it has been combed and the fibres are all aligned parallel.  There are no bumps or noils in this preparation.  Fibre is very fine and quite soft.  It has sort of a cotton-y feel to it.

Banana is packaged in 50 gram portions  (50 grams = 1.76 oz.)
