This book is by Canadian author Susan Rex.
The title is: Complex Color: Color Mixing for WashFast Acid Dyes. Her first book, Dyeing Wool and Other Protein Fibres teaches how to dye. This companion book is about how to mix color and how to use color. It deals with color theory, color reality, and placing colors in color families to make choosing colors more easy.
There are color samples of 187 individual hues, shown in three depths of shade, and the formulas so a person can duplicate them. The color samples are arranged by color family. Susan uses 8 ProChem WashFast Acid dyes to produce 561 shades and tones of color. These color samples will aid the dyer to understand the visual affect of adding complementary color, black or brown to attain the final desired color.
The book is 6" x 9" and 102 pages, coil bound, so it will stay open while you use it. Regardless of the brand of acid dye used, the information and color theory presented in this book will enhance the knowledge of novice and experienced dyers alike.
I've just found out that Susan Rex's books will no longer be printed!! The copies I have in stock are all that will be available.
