Corriedale is medium-fine, soft and well-crimped. The longer staple length of the fibre makes for easy spinning. It is also well-suited for needle-felting due to the fibre diameter and the springy nature of the wool. It may also be used for wet felting. Corriedale is a great multi-purpose wool. Soft enough for a garment, and good for both types of felting. It is "top", meaning that the fibers have been combed. The short bits are removed and the fibres are all aligned parallel. I often recommend this wool for new spinners. It has a longer fibre, so it's easier to spin, and the resulting yarn is soft and useful for garments. Corriedale Top is sold in 8 ounce (or 227 gram) portions.
