Silk Hankies - 25 gram, Dyed Red

Cultivated silk "hankies" add luxury to your handspun yarns.  They may be used in the paper-making process and in felting as well.  They are also known as Mawata.

Approximately 10 inches square and many layers. These are made by stretching silk cocoons across a frame. You can easily pull it into a roving.  Spin it and ply it with your wool for a lovely sheen, or use it alone for a fantastic silk yarn.

This silk has been hand-dyed a nice color of red.

This listing is for 25g or 0.88 ounces of silk fibre. It is the amount shown in the photo. 

Silk hankies are also available undyed in 100 gram (3.52 oz.), and 50 gram (1.75 oz.) packages in seperate listings.
