About the Author: Ellen Banker is a rug hooker and graphic designer. She has been an on–and–off rug hooker since 1999 and generally designs her own patterns with one consistent element: words. For 25 years, she has worked in commercial printing and graphic design. Trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, Ellen brings an artist’s eye to her work and art. Ellen has taught her word hooking techniques at guild meetings and at the Green Mountain Rug School in Vermont, and is a contributing writer for Rug Hooking Magazine
