Knitter’s Almanac

You may know Elizabeth Zimmermann as The Opinionated Knitter  She has written several books on knitting: Knitting Workshop, Knitting Without Tears, and Knitting Around.  Elizabeth has been gone for some years, but her Baby Surprise sweater and other designs live on. 

The year begins with an Aran sweater pattern and proceeds to February baby things, a March Shetland, an April blanket, May mittens, and so on through the months, finishing with a December last-minute wishbone sweater. 

This book is very conversational in style as the author continually comments on the project, it’s history, other ancient and modern customs and personal beliefs. Elizabeth Zimmermann’s patterns are classic.
