Est de Laine is a breed of sheep developed in France. It is also known as Delaine wool. It is a breed that doesn’t possess the folds of skin typical of a Merino sheep. Micron count typically ranges from 15 to 30. This particular batch of fibre is considered “Fine”. I’ve spun this, and I’d compare it to Corriedale. It spins easily and the resulting yarn is soft enough for clothing. Staple length is about 10 cm. This wool felts easily and takes color well. An Alberta product!
These portions of roving are one pound each (about 454 gr.) $31 makes it $6.83 per 100 grams.
