Sari Silk Ribbon

The Sari is the silk dress worn by women in India and Nepal.  Sari Silk ribbon is recycled silk from these saris. Some ribbon is multi-colored with occasional metallic threads.  Some is solid-colored having been dyed.  The colors are amazing– bright blues, purples, red….

Sari Silk Ribbon can be knit like yarn.  You can cut it into pieces or use lengths of ribbon and incorporate them into your wet felted piece with great effect.  Rug hookers use it to create another dimension in their hooking. Picture a field with wild flowers in silk.  Use Sari Silk Ribbon to make jewelry– beads, bangles and necklaces.
