Noil Fibers are the short fibers that remain after the silk is carded or combed for spinning. The short fibers and little nepps give the Noil fibre a nice texture for spinning or silk fusion. This Noil is perfect for adding texture to batts, or spun into yarns. They may also be used in paper-making.
These are Mulberry Silk Noils. I’ve found that when put through the drum carder, they separate into colorful bits that produce a tweed-looking yarn. I’ll put a photo of the yarn in the detailed photo. I put them through the carder twice, and used black fibre so the colors would “pop”, and added a touch of Angelina.
Buy 15 grams undyed, or hand-dyed in 25 gram portions of mixed colors.
