The Spring Proddy is also known as a Rag Rugger or a Bodger. It grasps each piece of wool, cotton or fleece and pulls it into place through the backing. You work from the front of your piece. The Spring Proddy is used to create three-dimensional hooking on your mat. Proddy may be embellishment on a hooked mat, or a whole rug. You might pull a petal through the backing fabric to create a 3-D flower, for instance. Ideal strip size is 1 inch by 3 inches.
