Tencel Fibre

Tencel is a commercial name for Lyocell fibre. It is a cellulose fibre made from wood pulp, often eucalyptus, but this fibre seems about as far away from wooden as you could get. It is extremely shiny, white and soft.  The shiniest fibre we stock. It is absorbent, very strong when wet or dry, and resistant to wrinkles when woven. Lyocell in a fabric can be machine or hand-washed or dry cleaned. It drapes well. It can be dyed many colors, using a dye for plant fibres.

Tencel is often used in fibre blends.  It is useful for spinning, carding, felting, dyeing, and paper-making.

Tencel/Lyocell is available in 25 gram portions. Love the colors.  So very shiny and soft.  We have White, Black, Silver, Leaf Green and Navy.
