Local yarn from an Alberta mill.
This is a three-ply 100% woolen yarn, considered a medium-weight or Aran weight. It is made from fine, Canadian-grown Rambouillet wool. It is available in three natural sheep-colors– Natural white, Medium Gray, and Dark Brown. Good yarn for overcasting the edge of your rug hooking. It can be used in knitting machines, for hand knitting, or for warp or weft when weaving. May be over-dyed using Washfast Acid Dyes. This is a basic, economical yarn.
There are approximately 129 meters or 141 yards per 112 gm / 4 oz skein. For knitting, we recommend 4.5mm to 5.5mm needles.
