Irish Hook – Pencil Handle

These are beautiful pencil hooks hand-turned with precision in Ireland.  The handles are of Yew wood and the hooks are brass. The wood is beautifully smooth and feels good in the hand.  The varied woodgrain means no two handles are alike.  

A special feature of the pencil rug hook is the tapered shaft.  As you hook, the taper opens up the backing fabric making it easier to pull the strip through.  

This is the Pencil handle.  The overall length is 6 inches or a little more than 15 cm.  The handle itself is 4 1/2 inches or 11 1/2 cm.  The brass hook is 1 1/2 inches or 4 cm.  

Choose what suits you.  People have different-sized hands and preferences. We have Ergo handle, Bent Ergo, and Ball handle. The sizes indicated are measurements of the hook in millimeters.  In the photo, the top one is 5mm, and the bottom one is 3mm.  The second number in the sizing is the width of the shaft.
